South Western Railway Recruitment 2020: Karnataka has the fewest electrified and/or doubled broad gauge lines compared to other states in India (5%). The section between Bangalore-Mysore(136 kilometres (85 mi)) is doubled and electrified. The Bangalore-Hubli line is being doubled in isolated patches. While Bangalore-Tumkur was doubled and opened to traffic in 2007, progress on other sections has been painfully slow. The doubling of the Arsikere-Chikjajur section of the same line was completed in 2015, while doubling of Tumakuru-Arsikere and Huballi-Chikjajur section are in progress.

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

For the post of Level-2 in VII CPC Pay Matrix:

• 12th pass or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with 50% marks in the aggregate (for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen 50% marks is not required) OR
• Passed matriculation plus course completed act Apprenticeship/ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT from a recognized institution for the posts in technical categories

For the post of Level-1 in VII CPC Pay Matrix:

• 10th pass OR ITI OR equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT/SCVT from recognized institutions

Age Limit(as on 01.01.2020):

• For Level-2 in VII CPC Pay Matrix: 18 to 30 years
• For Level-1 in VII CPC Pay Matrix: 18 to 33 years

Relaxation:

• Selection will be on the basis of Written Test, Marks on certificates

Written Test Scheme:
The written test will consist of 40 objective questions (40 marks) & 1 essay type question (20 marks) relating to Scouts & Guides organization and its activities and General Knowledge
Exam Pattern:

• Written Test: 60 marks
• Marks on certificates: 40 marks
• Total Marks: 100 marks

Application fee:

• For General candidates: Rs.500/-
• For SC / ST / PWD / Ex-Servicemen / Women / Minorities / Economic Backward Classes: Rs.250/-
